Re: Ability Suggestion: Mount Bonding

I honestly can't see any drood fighting atop a horse to train their riding skill above 101, so an ability to either restore energy or, like Tangela suggested here, share energy with non-sapient animals that are allied to you would be pretty cool, though I'm not sure the lore permits sharing energy t...

Re: Monks under review

"Consider possibility of tweaking thaumaturgy guidelines and allowing monks to battle against nethrim with a heavy emphasis on using thaumaturgy in combat. Still on the fence with this, let me know your opinions on the BBS." I honestly support this quite a bit. Mainly because it's very hard for Monk...

Re: Taking a short break

Being at least one of the people who made the suggestion, I wholeheartedly approve, especially with the exam you have creeping up on you. Hopefully you get some free time to enjoy yourself and relax while working on those things. And hopefully you'll find a way to send me tacos from your superior Me...

Re: Mummer AoE casting revisited

I really would like Mummers to have SOME sort of solo combat effectiveness since it's not just about singing songs and playing an instrument, some Mummers are explorers (which is inherently dangerous due to the region), but the combat effectiveness of the guild is second to none due to how you can c...

Re: Mummer AoE casting revisited

Not to burst the bubble here or anything, but Mummers are already really, really strong right now, especially in a group. If you want AoE period, you should probably expect the duration and effectiveness of the Word being used to be halved or more. Probably quartered per opponent effected. Abilities...

Re: Hostility and Sigils

I don't think the Mummer camp leader would be too thrilled about someone using his teachings for nefarious purposes or damaging the reputation of his crew either. Yeah, there's that too. Some guild leaders will not be pleased with members giving the group they belong to a bad name and that could ac...

Re: Hostility and Sigils

Technically, yes, however I have no idea how the game handles guards reacting to that kind of thing since it's more of an obscure ability. A person generally wouldn't understand what you're doing to your target without some knowledge from a Mummer or by being a Mummer themselves due to how the abili...

Re: Mummer Questions

It does help at least one of your abilities by making the effects of Mind Fog on your victim greater. To my knowledge, there aren't any real abilities that go under "anthems" despite the ability saying they exist. It's more of a support ability that makes Mummers even more sought out for assistance ...

Re: Make all small sheathes closable by default.

I'm personally of the mind that a skilled pickpocket would be able to open any closed sheath, backpack, or other container on a person without it being realized. So I would argue that there should be an ability to open other peoples closed containers. Once we can permanently cut off someone else's ...

Re: Make all small sheathes closable by default.

Once more, very situational, as a clasp could be undone before the start of battle as well. The firearm is not always drawn before the fight, either, as such assumes everyone who uses a firearm in the open is wielding one capable of multiple shots. As far as relying on players for other basic functi...

Re: Make all small sheathes closable by default.

As a note, your post comes off far much more as a demand than a request as well. That's not really intended, I'm just not understanding the logic behind having to go to another player for a basic item function. Additionally, leatherworkers can make closeable sheathes, supplying them with a use outs...

Some suggestions for existing abilities and a new one.

Adrenaline Rush: Can we get the energy return upon knocking someone down to apply when you already have the buff? As it stands, you cannot gain energy from knocking someone down if you have the melee buff from this ability. Alternatively, why not quadruple the energy gain upon getting the buff? It's...

Make all small sheathes closable by default.

Including wrist and ankle sheathes. Or just make wrist and ankle sheathes immune to being spotted and/or stolen from and add a close feature to all dagger sheathes otherwise. Why should we have to go out of our way to get a basic feature on an item that should have it anyway if it's the only proper ...

Re: Offensive Tactics Buff

I don't run any of them except neutral/no tactics most of the time. The issue is, Jirato, that in the situations where offensive tactics would be helpful, it's a better idea to switch to a defensive tactic or stay in neutral unless you have an ability that caters to tactics offense.

Offensive Tactics Buff

Just as the title says. I know we're not really a game that's meant to have a ton of combat balance, but there are some things in the game that that really offer no real benefit for everyone involved and instead only benefit those who have to use it for other things. Such a thing that anyone can be ...

I only have four characters I listen to specific themed songs on. Graham: Alestorm. Not even a song, an entire band sings to the glory of CAPTAIN GRAHAM (when I actually play him). Pegleg Potion is a good one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vAXjphQ6yTE Geir: Ragnarok by Corvus Corax. (Also heavy me...

Re: Tasks based on skill level, NPC/world lore, and World Ev

I'm going to say a few things here, other than that this doesn't need to turn into a flame war or anything close. So you are saying that every NPC in the game has their background Many named NPCs do, but it's impossible to get enough help going for EVERY NPC to have their own wholly-developed and un...

Re: Bosses and Sub-bosses

To be fair, we do have tasks that spawn scaled NPCs that could be thought of as minibosses when you get far enough along. Like I've suggested before, maybe you should experience the game before you make complicated suggestions that require revamps of extant systems or long periods of work on the GM ...

Lots of abilities benefit from the opponent being stunned or on the ground because it nerfs their defensive rolls for the duration of the stun or until they manage to stand.

Re: Fight strategy and rotations

We already have similar within the tactics command, the aim command, and so on. Personally I think this kind of system is not what we need considering it'd invalidate the importance of picking a proper weapon for some fights. Not to mention this would require a full revamp of the combat system as is...

Re: Battle trance, transformations, and stacking effects

Shapeshifting seems like a highly lore-conflicting idea and most certainly wouldn't give access to elemancy. The idea for a battle trance ability is alright, but doesn't really seem like it'd fit in most guilds. The last one is more or less something closer to what a Rook might be able to accomplish...
