Patreon is back, but different

I have put much thought into the Patreon program and taking donations for CLOK over the past 8 months since I've suspended my Patreon page. I've had many people come to me and express interest in continuing to support CLOK, asking me why I'd do such a bone-headed thing as quit taking donations, and ...

Patreon - Important for current Patrons

Good morning, I've recently re-activated CLOKs Patreon page. Please note, however, that it seems all active pledges from when I suspended my Patreon account back in October of last year are still active. I would strongly encourage anyone who was a past supporter of CLOK and no longer wishes to be, t...

Everburning braziers

It has come to my attention that there was a seasonal merchant selling large black wrought-iron braziers and large blackened bronze braziers that function as everlasting heat and light sources, and that many of these were placed in various hunting areas, the wilderness, and player mines. Note that i...

Re: Cache of questions

Arlen would greatly disapprove of someone using a weapon as their primary form of combat, much to the same way Bjorn would disapprove of a Dwaedn Wyr using a light/puny weapon. Though he understands practicality and wouldnt be outright opposed to it in extremely limited situations as a secondary wea...

Re: BUGCHECK and bug status types

It's still character based, as we're trying to avoid any information that could give the GM team a clear picture of who owns what account. We don't necessarily like knowing who everyone's alts are. Yay, privacy.

BUGCHECK and bug status types

Soon, the BUGCHECK command will be re-enabled to view bugs submitted under the new bug report system. With the new bug system, there are a couple new status types. Here's a list of what they all mean: Resolved: Corrective action has been taken and we consider the reported issue to be resolved. Defer...

Sollerets sound more like scale armor based on the description. Should chain footwear even be a thing?

Heads up - start planning your permanent nicknames

FYI, as the new account system gets rolled out later this spring, nicknames as we know it will be going away. You will have a single OOC persona to identify as. When you play, you will have the choice of being represented in OOC communication by either a guest nickname, your account nickname, or you...

Re: Age bracket update possibility?

I've played games like that before, Eagalon, and my character wound up being thousands of years old...

I'm pretty set on the real time thing. If you don't play a character for 10 real life years, then I'd imagine you weren't that attached to it in the first place.

Re: Age bracket update possibility?

I'm sorry if that came off a bit harsh by the way, it's just, that this isn't a "I'll try to remember" kind of thing, it's policy, it's been policy since the day we first had someone actually try to RP a little kid. As soon as we noticed it was going on, we put it in there, it's been in the characte...

Re: Age bracket update possibility?

I have some ideas on how I'd like to make an aging advancement system available to everyone, along with a one time age advancement available for legacy players that predate it if they wish to opt-in.

Re: Introduction system

It is something I want, but the amount of work to implement it is not feasible at this time.

Perhaps in the distant future when a few of the more priority code rewrites (item, character, room, and critter handling) are done.

Re: THINK and RITUAL

Basically nothing that would imply giving you a wound, without actually giving you a wound.

If you're going to act out stabbing yourself in the hand, you should be taking energy loss and damage in your hand. If you're not, then you're bypassing mechanics by doing it.

THINK and RITUAL

The THINK and RITUAL commands are really great to let us know what you're doing. Especially considering we can't be everywhere at once, especially for those of you who play in vastly different time zones. THINK and RITUAL are logged to our discord server and emailed to us in our daily event reports....

Re: The Masterful Conundrum

I personally don't see the problem with a smith producing thousands of items without getting a masterful (though I feel that's an exaggeration, hundreds more like it). Masterful aren't supposed to be uber common. I like the idea of only being able to get it on an initial forge from raw materials. I'...

Re: Knights of the Wyrvardn

Yay Wyrvardn meeting! Honest question - why do people keep calling them knights? The title is in the name. Guardians of the people! I'm pretty sure they're not actually knighted in any technical sense. This. If anything, given Morcant's history with the Knights Templar, he probably wouldn't want to...
