Re: Autocasted Elemancer Shields

Doesn't seem like a bad idea to me, but I admittedly don't know too much about elemancer abilities. I'll discuss with the team, if they're cool with it, I don't see a problem with it.

Re: The mystery of a ghostly horse

That's someone's horse who's riding flag got reset after a server crash or reboot. If you find a horse like that, please BUG it while in the room, all a GM has to do is zap there, pick it up, and reset it's riding key to 0, then otherstable it. Attacking it will permanently place you on its agro lis...

Re: Mining and Lapidary to skill cap?

If you wish to cap skills for personal achievement and your enjoyment, by all means, do it. However, the skill cap for skills with no challenge rating system and flat gains such as mining doesnt really mean too much... Skill cap is less a goal to reach and more a barrier to prevent things from getti...

Re: finishing lessons above the skill cap

Should be able to add this to the character updater which runs every time you log in pretty easily. Just need to add a few checks to exclude critters and NPCs (they cheat).

Re: Healers and Paying

This would be pretty hard to implement with the way infirmary AI works, the healer will prioritize most severe wound among all occupants, so there's no real definitive point of "I'm done healing this person". AI is already a pretty overloaded system and I'd rather not add a second check to loop thro...

There is a major metallurgy overhaul on the todo list, one of the planned features is the ability to produce specific sizes of ingots as well as other molded/casted parts.

Please note that the information contained in the original post is considered an exploit. Please refrain from doing this. I'll see about fixing the smelting and bar cutting code this weekend if I get a chance.

Change to population-based skill bonuses

The threshold for online players to activate the population-based skill bonus has been changed from 10 to 5. The maximum possible population-based skill bonus has been changed from 150% at 25 players to to 200% at 25 players (10% per each player over 5). At this time this should be considered a semi...

Notice of minimal event coverage

I know one of CLOKs main appeals has been that it's a living breathing world, and players frequently interact with NPCs to drive world-changing events and interpersonal stories and development. Unfortunately, we're at a bit of a skeleton crew right now, so I regret to inform you that that probably i...

Re: Official GM List

I realize it's been a long time since I've updated this, as it still had names like Hayl, Lassyn, Vestyn and Elyria on it who have been inactive on the project for quite awhile now. Also, Mirazia and Velrath will no longer be GMing with us. We are currently looking into the possibility of bringing n...

Tentatively plan to do this around 5 my time (3 PM game time).

Please plan to log out accordingly.

It shouldnt take more than 15 minutes.

Re: CLOK's Morale System

Just as a heads up, also, I plan to have most of these morale bonuses go away upon logout. I don't want someone doing something like eating a really fancy meal (coming soon), logging out, then logging back in 2 weeks later and being all, "I'm in a really good mood because of that fancy meal I ate......

Re: CLOK's Morale System

There will be several minor actions that players can perform to increase morale added over time. The first of these to be added is the hydration bonus. Take any drink of a non-alcoholic beverage from your canteen, waterskin, or just a glass/cup/whatever, and you will receive the "hydration" status. ...

CLOK's Morale System

I decided to go ahead and be transparent about the morale system. Right now, we only have one type of morale boost, which is "resting at a gathering spot". The way this works is, staying in a room with the (gathering spot) tag after the room name will gradually increase your morale up to a cap of 25...

Re: New ClokGear Version Out!

That's exactly what I mean, my goal is to see pluginstats versions other than the new GMCP one go away. CMUD supports GMCP natively, TinTin++ can support it with some minor tweaks, and I think MUSHclient has an add-on available to support it. More info here: https://www.mushclient.com/gmcp.

Re: New ClokGear Version Out!

Note that, while updating is optional for the time being, due to the new GMCP format for sending character data to the plugin being quite a bit more efficient and less stressful on the server, we will eventually be disabling support for the old plugin.

Thank you all for your patience!

We've been working on a lot of the boilerplate code lately, and redoing a lot of really ancient stuff to enable features that were never really a consideration when the MUD server program was first created. It's been a really bumpy ride, and we've probably still got some trials ahead of us. But I ju...
